  • Week 1-4: Drop In

Claim your wholeness and experience the fullness of life that is waiting for you, right now. This includes a three-part process of radical acceptance, opening the heart, and relaxing into freedom.

Testimonials

Thoughtful and wonderful

“This was an absolutely phenomenal course. I was so nervous about it and felt like I would be an imposter, since I don't have years of experience meditating. But! I learned SO MUCH about mindfulness and feel like I have a ton of different tools I can use in various moments. I also loved the pacing of the course and the curriculum. It was designed so thoughtfully and progressed very naturally.”

Connect deeply to myself

“Before I started this class, my meditation practice was rocky. I knew that it would help me in my goals, but I wasn't sure how exactly. With Flourish, I learned that it's so much more than just finding time to sit quietly. It helped me connect deeper to my practice and myself, which gives me the motivation to show up every day in a way that is so much more intentional than ever before.”

Learning to trust my body

“I certainly had a few "ah-ha" moments, especially about narratives I tell myself and thoughts that no longer serve me. But I think more importantly, I am learning to trust the wisdom of my body and my deeper self.”

Grounding myself

“Because of Flourish I now have more tools in my toolkit to use when I am experiencing difficult emotions, or feeling out of touch with my own body. Now I know more than one way to ground myself and have options depending on how I am feeling.”

Supported and connected

“By having a cohort of other women experiencing similar challenges, I was able to feel deeply supported and connected in a way that I haven't felt in a long time. It felt safe to be vulnerable, something that is far too often taken for granted.”

FAQs

  • The practices I teach are rooted in 2,000+ years of wisdom from Buddhism and other faith traditions, filtered through my 20+ years of practice, but you don’t have to belong to any religion to benefit from its teachings.

  • This program IS for those people who…

Want to sink more deeply into a meditation practice in order to FLOURISH in their lives

Want support from an experienced teacher and a like-minded community as they apply evidence-based, ancient wisdom to their lives

Are excited to dive deeply, engage in the practices, and authentically and bravely show up in this experience.

Want to eventually go on to lead and/or teach meditation to others

Want to supplement their other ways of healing with somatic, body-based ways of finding healing and growth.

This program is NOT for those who…

Are brand new to meditation (i.e. no familiarity whatsoever)

Are seeking a teacher training program (although this is a great precursor to one!)

Are in an acute crisis without additional psychological support (i.e. therapist)

  • First - you will get a certificate in Mindful Practices from Mindfulness Consulting, LLC at the conclusion of the 12-weeks, which might inspire your work to support or subsidize the cost of the program.

If this is not an option and you still need support, reach out! We offer payment plans and some limited scholarship funds. Send us a note at info@mindfulnessconsulting.net with subject line: “Flourish Scholarship” to learn more.

  • We are so sure you will love the resources, teachings, coaching and community that we are offering a full refund (minus administrative fees) if you decide it is not for you the first week (7 days) of the program. Tuition refunds are no longer available after February 19, 2023.

  • Although there is a curriculum in Flourish, it is much more than an online class. Rather than just passively intaking information, we will be applying it directly to your individual lives so that you can get support in real time, with an experienced teacher and a community of fellow travelers to cheer you on.

Meditation coaching isn’t just an intellectual experience. It is about applying evidence-based wisdom to the fight you had with your husband, or the difficult conversation you have to have with your boss. It is about transforming how you talk to yourself when you fail, and how you find faith when everything feels difficult. Yael will give you the tools, yes, but she will also support you as you try them out for yourself and answer questions along the way.

About your instructor

I’m Yael Shy. Meditation saved my life. And it continues to do so. Over and over.

Developing a meditation practice and embarking on this mindfulness journey has eliminated my panic attacks, improved my sleep, and alleviated my base level of anxiety.

Mindfulness has helped me accept the parts of myself that once brought me shame, allowing me to form intimate connections with others. Including the man who is now my husband. When he and I started a family and I was lost in the vertigo of new motherhood, the wisdom of mindfulness helped shift the exhausting experience into something empowering and joyful.

For the past fifteen years, I have been using the transformative power of meditation and mindfulness, rooted in my 20 years of study in Judaism and Zen Buddhism, to support myself and others through the pressures of life.

I wrote the award-winning book, What Now? Meditation for Your Twenties and Beyond (Parallax, 2017) and teach at NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. I founded Mindful NYU which went on to become the largest campus-based meditation program in the country.

My work has been featured on networks like Good Morning America, CBS News, and Fox 5 News, and in publications such as Time Magazine, Real Simple, and the Harvard Business Review. I’m also a regular contributor to the Ten Percent Happier app.
